Race report
Guy Sagiv, Ryan Anderson, Matteo Dal-Cin, Charles-Étienne Chrétien and Nick Zukowsky join forces to get into the breakaway. The five open up a gap of 11 minutes before the peloton takes them on a leash.

Remco Evenepoel strikes with 60 kilometres remaining when the gap has fallen to 1 minute. A group of approximately ten riders rejoin him before the peloton also regains contact.

Zukowsky is the last attacker to be reeled in with 31 kilometres to go, while Nathan Earle attacks moments after crossing the line with two laps left. His solo lasts one lap.

Nans Peters strikes on the Côte Camillien-Houde. Michael Woods and Enric Mas rejoin him. Approximately fifteen riders regain contact just before the top. Peter Sagan, Tim Wellens and Greg Van Avermaet are on board.

Benoît Cosnefroy jumps clear, while Wellens and Mas try to bridge across. Just before Peter Sagan rejoins them Mas accelerates. But the other pre-favourites are not far behind and they also make it across. Which is the cue for Julian Alaphilippe to jump clear.

Alaphilippe rejoins his compatriot. Together they reach the U-turn and hit the uphill straight of 560 metres to the line. The main group overhauls them and while everybody is sprinting on the limit Diego Ulissi pops up. Greg Van Avermaet trails him and comes across at the right moment to win the race for the second time in his career.
