Giro Women 2025: Route

Giro d'Italia Women 2025The Giro d’Italia Women features eight stages. The race kicks off on Sunday with an individual time trial in Bergamo and wraps up the following Sunday with a hilly stage on the 2020 World Championships circuit in Imola. There’s plenty of climbing on the menu, but Saturday’s queen stage is by far the toughest of the lot.

The Giro d’Italia Women opens with a 14.2-kilometre ITT starting and finishing in Bergamo. The course is flat, except for a 500-metre climb at 5%.

Stage 2 finishes uphill in Aprica. Over the final 12.9 kilometres, the average gradient sits at 3.8%. The steepest section — 2.7 kilometres at 7.4% — comes right at the start of the finishing climb.

Stage 3 begins with the Passo del Tonale — 8.4 kilometres at 6.1% — followed by a long descent leading onto the final 40 kilometres on flat terrain.

Stage 4 serves up a hard day on lumpy terrain. The route goes up and down from start to finish, while a 10.9-kilometre climb averaging 7.5% tops it all off.

After that day of climbing, sprinters get their chance to shine in the 5th stage. The course is as flat as they come.

Stage 6 is once again quite hilly. After three climbs, the finish is on a gently rising stretch, while the closing kilometres leading onto that stretch are anything but flat either. Promising finale!

The queen stage is on day seven, covering 150 kilometres and 3,850 metres of elevation. The finale is played out on the Monte Nerone, a 14.6-kilometre climb at 6.7%, with the last 2.5 kilometres rising at a punishing 9%.

The Giro’s final stage is a hilly race from Forlí to Imola. It largely follows a circuit almost identical to the 2020 World Championships course, where Anna van der Breggen soloed to the rainbow jersey.
