Giro 2025 Favourites stage 14: For fast men #4

The sprint field in Italy isn’t particularly strong. One could argue that the two best sprinters are on the same team — Van Aert and Kooij at Visma | Lease a Bike — with the former leading out the latter.

Stage 14’s route is flat until the final 40 kilometres. The first of four climbs rises over 3 kilometres at 3.9%, followed by a negligible descent and another 3.5 kilometres at 4.9%. In the finishing circuit, the riders tackle the same 700-metre climb at 7.7% twice. The final ascent comes with just 7.6 kilometres to go.

Hardly Stelvio material. And for the likes of Kooij and Pedersen, no problem at all.
