Filippo Ganna was on fire in the ITT on the first day of action. On the 8.6 kilometres course in Torino he was 10 seconds faster than his compatriot Edoardo Affini. Tobias Foss finished at 13 seconds, João Almeida at 17 seconds, and Rémi Cavagna at 18 seconds
The French champion was very disappointed with his performance. Maybe be can match the World Champion this time. In early May, he outgunned Ganna in the ITT on the last day of the Tour de Romandie, although that route was not as straightforward as the Milano course.
