Thursday 2 September - On paper, the 18th stage is the hardest of the entire Vuelta. The route features an elevation gain of more than 5,000 metres on a 162.6 kilometres route with four climbs. The finale is played out on the Gamoniteiro, a 14.6 kilometres climb at 9.8%.
