The first mountain stage is 191 kilometres with a top-finish in the Alpujarras after a 20 kilometres closing climb. Bert-Jan Lindeman is in the break once again and this time he grabs the stage. Aru attacks and puts time into his opponents, but Chaves retains the overall lead.

Friday, August 28, 2015 – Stage 7 in the Vuelta is the last day in Andalusia and, of course, it’s one for the climbers. At the end of the 191.1 kilometres ride between Jódar and Capileira a 1st category climb awaits the riders. We are in the Alpujarras, the mountainous region on the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada.

Odds are on it will be up to the GC men in stage 7. After a hilly ride, the finish is in the Sierra Nevada after an irregular climb in almost 19 kilometres. The second part is toughest, while with 1 kilometer left the steepest section at 14% appears. Ample ammunition for spectacle racing!
