Tour de France 2019: Pinot wins at Tourmalet, Alaphilippe extends lead

The Pyrenees! Following an intermediate climb on the Col du Soulor the 14th stage finishes atop the iconic Col du Tourmalet. Thibaut Pinot winst the stage in a close finish ahead of Julian Alaphilippe and Steven Kruijswijk. Geraint Thomas loses time, but is still in second position overall.

Tour de France 2019 Route stage 14: Tarbes – Col du Tourmalet

Saturday 20 July - The Tour de France serves its first high altitude finish in the 14th stage. The riders set off in Tarbes for a day in the Pyrenees. The 117.5 kilometres route takes in the Col du Soulor as an intermediate ascent before the final haul up on the famous Col du Tourmalet.

This is the 87th time that Col du Tourmalet features in the Tour de France, yet it's just the third summit finish.The iconic pass is the final haul up of a 117 kilometres race with the Col du Soulor preceding it.
