With the haute catégorie giants Col de la Madeleine and Col de la Croix de Fer as intermediate climbs, this is a Classic Tour de France stage in the Alps. The iconic 21 hairpins of the Alpe account for a challenging finale with 13.8 kilometres of climbing at 8.1%.
