Abu Dhabi Tour 2018: The Route

Abu Dhabi Tour 2018The 2018 Abu Dhabi Tour features five stages, three of which are for fast men. An individual time trial and stage with summit finish round out the route. The Abu Dhabi Tour starts on Wednesday, the 21st of February to finish Sunday, the 25th of February.

The 1st stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour starts in Madinat Zayed to finish there as well. Mostly running through the desert, the route is as flat as can be.

Stage 2 is yet another likely fast finishers showdown, as is the 3rd stage. This route is similar to last year’s 2nd stage, when Marcel Kittel outsprinted Caleb Ewan and Mark Cavendish.

The 4th stage of the 2018 Abu Dhabi Tour is and individual time trial of 12 kilometres. The race is played out on flat and straight roads.

Stage 5 travels on a flat route to a closing climb up Jebel Hafeet. It’s a summit finish after a 10.8 kilometres ascent at 6.6%. Last edition, Rui Costa climbed to victory at Jebel Hafeet ahead of Ilnur Zakarin.
