Volta a Catalunya 2015
After the Tour and the Giro, the Volta a Catalunya is the oldest stage race on the cycling calendar. Edition 2015 started March 22nd to finish March 29th. Richie Porte took the GC without winning a stage. Runner-up Valverde on the other hand won three out of seven stages. Pozzovivo finished third with one stage victory.

The final stage of the Volta a Catalunya is 126.6 kilometres and ends with a local circuit featuring Alto de Montjuic eight times, a climb with a steepest section of 8%. The race explodes in the last kilometres with Alejandro Valverde sprinting to victory. His 3rd stage win this edition. Porte takes the overall.Read more »
Sergey Chernetskiy wins stage 6
Stage 6 in the Volta a Catalunya leads in 194.1 kilometres to theme park PortAventura on the mediterranean coast. A big break colours the race. Early escapee Sergey Chernetskiy sprints to victory, while the GC stays as it was with Richie Porte leading.Read more »
Brilliant racing by Valverde, Porte new leader
Stage 5 in the Volta a Catalunya leads from Alp, in the Pyrenees, to Valls, near the coast. Theoretically an uneventful day, but when the big men take control the race becomes a battle-field. Leader Bart De Clercq is raced to shreds and Alejandro Valverde powers to victory after a brilliant finale. Richie Porte is the new leader.Read more »
