UAE Tour 2022 Route stage 6: Expo 2020 Dubai – Expo 2020 Dubai

Friday 25 February - The UAE Tour always features at least one stage with start and finish in Dubai. This year is no different with stage 6 starting and finishing in front of the the Dubai Exhibition Centre, where the UAE is currently hosting Expo 2020.

Obviously, the Expo 2020 was supposed to be held in 2020, but the pandemic decided differently. The opening was postponed to 1 October 2021 and the exhibition will last until 31 March.

The Expo 2020 takes place in the Dubai Exhibition Centre, which is also the place where the riders clip into their pedals before clipping out of them as well after a near inevitable bunch sprint.

All three editions of the UAE Tour featured a Dubai to Dubai stage. The 2020 edition even twice. In 2021 and 2019 it was Sam Bennet who took the spoils, while Pascal Ackermann and Dylan Groenewegen emerged victorious in 2020.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
