Tour of the Basque Country 2022 Route stage 1: Hondarribia ITT
The first 1.7 kilometres run along the waterfront before the riders tackle a 500 metres climb at 9% on a narrow road. They turn left when the gradients level out and continue to climb false flat for 1.5 kilometres. The route then returns towards Hondarribia on a downhill.
The last 3 kilometres feature two more uphill sections. Both short. The first climbs at 5.2% for 400 metres, the second is half as long but twice as steep.
The latter opens the final kilometre. After reaching the summit the route descends to the line.
The only time check appears after 3.1 kilometres.
