Tour of Britain 2021 stage 3 Thursday 9 September - At 152.2 kilometres, the route of the 5th stage of the Tour of Britain moves through Cheshire for a possible sprint finish in Warrington.

The riders set off from the biotech campus Alderley Park - to be precise, from outside the Glasshouse - to return to almost the same place after 110 kilometres of racing. The anti-clock wise lap takes the riders through Cheshire. In doing so, they tackle three KOM climbs, located at Blacky Bank, Bottom-of-the-Oven and Bakestonedale Road.

In Monk's Heath the riders are back where they started to continue to the west. The last 40 kilometres are pan flat, except for a short drop down to the Manchester Ship Canal with 11 kilometres remaining.

The home straight is on Sankey Street and the finish lies just outside the town’s famous Golden Gates.
