Strade Bianche 2019

Julian Alaphilippe won the 13th edition of the Strade Bianche ahead of Jakob Fuglsang. The Frenchman bested the Dane in a thrilling finale in Siena, while Wout Van Aert rounded out the podium. The race was played out on Saturday 9 March 2019.

Alaphilippe bests Fuglsang in Siena

It is sunny and dry in Tuscany, so dust whirls freely on the white roads of the modern Classic. Alaphilippe outguns Fuglsang in the finale, while Van Aert finishes in third.

The Route

Strade Bianche 2019

Saturday 9 March - Dust whirls (or mud splatters) over the Tuscan hills - welcome in the Strade Bianche. The route amounts to 184 kilometres and one-third is played out on gravel roads, often firmly uphill.
