Giro Rosa 2016 Stage 2: Evelyn Stevens powers to stage win and pink jersey at first uphill finish

At 111.1 kilometres, stage 2 in the Giro Rosa leads to a demanding finale with two climbs and the first summit finish in this year's edition. After a late attack Evelyn Stevens outpowers Elisa Longo Borghini and Katarzyna Niewiadoma at the top. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Mia Radotic is the first attacker and she is accompanied by Anna Trevisi. After an escape of tens of kilometres they are reeled in. Despite some attacks the pack remains bunched unil the closing climb.

With 5 kms left a group with all favourites attacks. At the top Evelyn Stevens outsprints Longo Borghini, Niewiadoma and Abott. While het team mate Guarnier finishes down on her Stevens takes the pink jersey as a bonus.
