Pedersen wins thrilling finale

Mads Pedersen outsprints Florin Sénéchal and Matteo Trentin in Gent-Wevelgem. Pre-race favourites Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel finish in the places eight and nine.

The Route

Sunday 11 October - The start of Gent-Wevelgem has been replaced to Ypres, but the essence of the race remains unchanged. The Flemish Classic serves its traditional mix of cobbles, unpaved roads and 'hellingen', although the detour into France will be skipped this year and the race has been shortened to 233 kilometres.
