E3 Harelbeke 2016
The E3 Harelbeke was won by Michal Kwiatkowski. The Pole bested Peter Sagan in a sprint-a-deux after the duo successfully attacked from a select group of favourites at a climb with 30 kilometres left. Ian Stannard was third in what was the 59th edition of E3 Harelbeke.

At 206 kilometres, E3 Harelbeke offers a multitude of Flemish hills and cobbles. At Karnemelkbeekstraat, with around 30 kilometres left, Kwiatkowski and Sagan leave their competitors alone and they power to the line for a sprint-a-deux. The former World Champions bests the current World Champion in a smart sprint. Ian Stannard is the third rider on the podium.Read more »

E3 Harelbeke is a perfect warm-up race for the Tour of Flanders, which will be held nine days later on a similar parcours. Both the E3 and Flanders offer a mixture of cobbles and short, steep climbs.
