Mathieu van der Poel won edition 59 of the Brabantse Pijl. The Dutchman outsprinted Julian Alaphilippe, Tim Wellens and Michael Matthews on the line. The race was played out on Wednesday 17 April 2019.

Van der Poel outsprints Alaphilippe, Wellens and Matthews

Pre-race favourites Alaphilippe, Matthews, Van der Poel and Wellens battle it out in the finale of the Brabantse Pijl. The Dutch cyclo-crosser opens the sprint to outgun the other three. Alaphilippe and Wellens join him on the podium.

Wednesday 17 April – At 196.2 kilometres, the Brabantse Pijl serves no less than 31 hills. A better preparation for the Amstel Gold Race is virtually impossible. Tim Wellens is title defender.
