Race report
Local hero Ide Schelling forms the breakaway with Emils Liepins, Owain Doull, Johan Jacobs, Aaron Van Poucke, and Luca Rastelli. The six put almost 5 minutes into the peloton.

The race intensifies inside the last 100 kilometres. While Victor Campenaerts and Nathan Van Hooydonck rejoins the leaders, Rastelli loses contact.

The lead group is history inside the last 50 kilometres.

Benoot accelerates on the Keutenberg and only Pidcock, Asgreen, Kwiatkowski, Teuns, Van der Poel, Cosnefroy, Hirschi, Küng, Kamp and Matthews are able to follow. The eleven cross the line for the last lap 26 seconds ahead of the first chasers.

Kwiatkowski strikes a little later. Cosnefroy bridges across on the Geulhemmerberg. The two tackle the Bemelerberg 27 seconds ahead of the chasers.

Which is enough for the two to battle it out on the line. Quite literally. Cosnefroy opens the sprint and Kwiatkowski bests him with a strong final jump.

Tiesj Benoot breaks clear in the final kilometres to take third before Van der Poel wins the group sprint.
